The Service Desk Team acts as a central point of contact for all internal business users, working to answer all IT support needs. The Service Desk provides 1st and 2nd line support for all IT end user systems.

The server infrastructure is virtualized using VMware and runs a mixture of Windows 2012/2016 while our desktops (physical and virtual) and laptops run Windows 7/10 and Microsoft Office. The virtual desktop infrastructure is managed with VMware Horizon. The IT department handles all aspects of technology, including PC's, servers, audio-visual, fixed and mobile telecommunications.

This role is a key part of the local IT department composed of 5 people, providing hands to our Luxembourg subsidiary. You will be member of a team of 2 people based in Steinsel, as such we are looking for someone who can thrive working independently as well as part of a global IT team.

Your Mission

  • Level 1 and level 2 support of all users
  • Interfacing with 3rd Parties to resolve support issues
  • Microsoft Windows 7/10
  • Microsoft Office
  • Basic networking fundamentals
  • PC Hardware & Peripherals (Dell)
  • PC Imaging and software deployment
  • MS Active Directory and Group Policy Administration
  • VDI management using VMware Horizon
  • Remote Access, VPN & VDI
  • Mobile device management
  • Video Conferencing on Cisco Webex, Zoom and Microsoft Teams
  • Remedy Ticketing System - desirable
  • Alcatel IP Telephony & Telephone PBX Administration - desirable
  • Act as Project Manager - on demand
  • Documentation and reporting

Your Profile

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Sciences
  • Minimum of 5 years' professional experience in a similar position
  • Strong customer service - displays commitment to resolving problems with a "can-do", customer-focused attitude
  • Microsoft and VMware environments
  • Good understanding of TCP/IP networking and security
  • Enthusiastic team player in a cross disciplinary environment, you also have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral
  • Organized and stress resistant, you have proven aptitude to assess in brief time and to deliver clear and structured troubleshooting solutions
  • You are motivated to learn new skills
  • Fluency in French is essential, working knowledge in English
