Your mission :
You are responsible for developing and implementing purchasing strategies while ensuring the selection, negotiation and performance management of suppliers. Working closely with the Supply Planning, Quality and Engineering teams, you contribute to securing the company's supply chain and optimizing purchasing performance.
In this role, you will be responsible for:
- Design and implement purchasing strategies for goods and services in line with the company's objectives.
- Manage supplier sourcing and selection processes in compliance with technical, quality and commercial requirements, including requests for quotation (RFQs), supplier evaluations, negotiations and contract management.
- Negotiate prices, commercial terms and framework agreements to achieve cost optimization while ensuring supply continuity.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure high levels of quality, delivery performance and competitiveness.
- Resolve supplier-related issues efficiently and within agreed timelines in collaboration with internal stakeholders.
- Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives related to quality, costs, lead times, payment terms and purchasing processes.
- Continuously monitor market developments, industry trends and supplier capabilities to identify new business opportunities and potential risks.
- Ensure compliance with the company's purchasing policies, procedures and ethical standards.
- Collaborate with internal customers to understand their requirements and ensure purchasing decisions support business needs.
- Participate in cross-functional projects and contribute to strategic purchasing initiatives.
Your main responsibilities:
- Ensure the implementation of the purchasing strategy for assigned commodities.
- Negotiate contracts and commercial agreements with suppliers.
- Monitor supplier performance and implement corrective actions when necessary.
- Identify and achieve cost reduction opportunities while maintaining quality and service levels.
- Ensure the availability of materials through close collaboration with Supply Planning and suppliers.
- Develop long-term partnerships with key suppliers.
- Maintain accurate purchasing documentation, supplier records and contract files.
- Contribute to risk management by monitoring supplier capabilities, market conditions and supply continuity.
- Support internal stakeholders by providing purchasing expertise throughout project lifecycles.
Your profile :
- Engineering degree or Degree in Economics with a specialization in Purchasing, Supply Chain or Sales, preferably combined with several years of experience in Purchasing, Materials Management or an equivalent qualification.
- Proven experience in supplier sourcing, negotiations and contract management within an industrial environment.
- Strong negotiation and influencing skills.
- Sound business judgment with strong cost awareness.
- Ability to analyze supplier quotations, evaluate cost drivers and identify savings opportunities.
- Experience in establishing and managing framework agreements and purchase orders.
- Knowledge of problem-solving methodologies such as 5 Whys, Fishbone Diagram or similar tools.
- Excellent command of French and English, both spoken and written. Additional languages are considered an asset.
- Very good knowledge of Microsoft Office applications; knowledge of AS/400 is considered an advantage.
