Hello Future: students immersed in the industry world

In 2018, Cebi Luxembourg will for the second year in a row take part in the Hello Future project. This innovative campaign which aims to promote industrial jobs amongst young people was launched by the FEDIL (The voice of Luxembourg's Industry) in partnership with the Luxembourgish Chamber of Commerce, Luxinnovation, the Luxembourgish Government and with the help of many motivated industrial companies located in Luxembourg.

Nowadays young people aren't keen to work for industries anymore. Yet, this secondary sector of the Economy has always played an important part in Luxembourg whether it is for its economy, its identity or its renown. Today, industries represent around 35% of the national GDP, 25% of the national employment in Luxembourg (it also employs a great number of border dwellers) and requires high qualified jobs. That is why, the Fedil has decided to restore industries' image by launching the Hello Future project. This project is really simple. Throughout the academic year students meet technicians, engineers or assistants during what is called a "roadshow" (a presentation). During these interviews, the professionals describe their industry, their job and their daily tasks.

In 2017 Cebi Luxembourg took part in six roadshows, offered internships, presented our electromechanical components to hundreds of young students, all very enthusiastic by this still not sufficiently known sector.

Cebi Luxembourg is looking forward to meeting the 2018 students and hopes that this great project will get them interested in working for the automotive and the household appliance business sectors.
